Day 1
Upon arrival to Manchester, you’ll be met by your Sky Vacations ambassador and transferred to your hotel. You’ll have time to relax and explore before this evenings “Manchester at Night Tour” highlighting the floodlit architecture of the city.
Day 2
Your day begins with a visit to The Lowry a waterfront arts and entertainment complex that houses galleries, theaters, and a collection of works by the famous artist L.S. Lowry. Explore the exhibitions and take in the stunning views of the Manchester Ship Canal. You’ll then be off to the John Rylands Library, a stunning neo-Gothic building that houses a vast collection of rare books and manuscripts. Your guided tour will enlighten you about the history of the library and its impressive architecture. Afterward, visit Manchester Cathedral a medieval church with beautiful stained glass windows and intricate stonework.
Day 3
Today you’ll explore the rich history of Manchester at the Manchester Museum which houses an impressive collection, including Egyptian mummies, dinosaur skeletons, and ancient Roman artifacts. Take a stroll through the museum’s beautiful gardens before heading to the Etihad Stadium (City of Manchester Stadium) the home ground of Manchester City Football Club. Take a guided tour to learn about the club’s history and enjoy panoramic views of the pitch. After a break for lunch, enjoy a visit to the Science and Industry Museum which showcases the city’s industrial heritage through interactive exhibits and demonstrations. Learn about Manchester’s role in the Industrial Revolution and explore the museum’s collection of vintage vehicles and machinery.
Day 4
Begin your day with a visit to the Manchester Art Gallery which houses a collection of fine and decorative art from around the world. Explore the galleries and admire works by famous artists such as Vincent van Gogh and Pre-Raphaelite painters. Afterward, enjoy a walk through the vibrant streets of Manchester and discover its street art, shops and boutiques. You’ll have time on your own to enjoy a leisurely afternoon exploring the Northern Quarter, a trendy neighborhood known for its independent shops, cafes, and music venues. Later today, visit the National Football Museum, located in the heart of Manchester, which is dedicated to the history and culture of football.
Day 5
A day at leisure to explore and enjoy the city. You may wish to plan for an optional tour of the Victoria Baths, enjoy lunch in Chinatown or take a Manchester Food and Drinks walking tour.
