For travelers looking to experience the true culture of Croatia and travel a little off the beaten path, consider a trip through some of the country\u2019s historic villages. Below are a few of Croatia\u2019s hidden gems, which feature stunning views and UNESCO World Heritage sites. <\/span><\/p>\n

Founded on the site of an ancient city, Motovun is a medieval hilltop town surrounded by a protected forest known for its unique environment that lends itself perfectly for growing truffles. With gorgeous vistas overlooking the Mirna River, Motovun is sure to be a delight for both your eyes and your camera roll. Plus, motorsport fans will be excited to wander the birthplace of Mario Andretti. Plan to spend at least half a day here!<\/span><\/p>\n

Another charming stop is Pore\u010d, a 2000-year-old coastal town in western Croatia. While it is well-known for its gorgeous coastline and beaches, Pore\u010d is also home to the Euphrasian Basilica, which dates back to the 6th<\/sup> century. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Basilica is filled with beautiful mosaics depicting various Catholic scenes.
